MI05-Brushy strokes

Intermedio a Milano.

Brushy Strokes is a calligraphy workshop for students of intermediate level and above, or at least that have some previous knowledge about calligraphy basics with a broad edge tool. This class focus on the at brush as a tool for calligraphy.
We will explore its versatility and its possibilities in terms of pressure, brush manipulation and speed control to achieve the best results while we learn the correct technics to do so.

The calligraphy of choice in this class will be the Italic hand for most of the workshop as I believe this style to be the best choice to learn how to use the brush. Although, demonstrations during the class might show examples of other calligraphic styles such
as “Gothized Italic” or “Blackletter” in order for the students to expand their concept about the range of letters that we can work on with the same technics.
Students are expected to work at their pace during the whole workshop while being as productive as possible.
As I like to say, we all can learn from everybody when we share a class with other calligraphers regardless of their level.

Workshop of intermediate level, in English with no translation. For further information, please refer to the workshop manager, Ettore Fumagalli (ettore.fumagalli@gmail.com).
